A Mediterranean delight! Use chick peas in salads, casseroles, stews and soups. The bean is the foundation ingredient for Hummus, Falafel and many other Mediterranean/Middle Eastern dishes. Cooking Tips: These beans will double in size when cooked.  Place the beans into a bowl and cover the beans with three inches of water. Let them soak overnight and drain the next day. Place the soaked beans into a pot and again, fill with water so that it's nearly three inches above the beans . Turn up the heat until the water boils and then reduce the temperature and let it simmer for 60 minutes. You're now ready to make Hummus or add any spices to taste. Storage Advantage: This product is packaged in a poly bucket which is flushed with Nitrogen. Storing your food in a cool and dry environment, along with nitrogen packing, insures organisms can not survive and provides a maximum shelf life. Oxygen absorbers are helpful but they can only absorb a set amount of oxygen before the absorbing chemical expires. Nitrogen will remain in the bucket until it is emptied.
