Higher in protein than the short grain, Long Brown Rice is one of the most nutritious of all the rice grains. Long grains tend to be more fluffy and less sticky than the shorter variety. The simple difference is that long grain brown rice has a husk/bran that is removed in order to make white rice. It is that husk/bran which provides the added nutrition that is often craved by the health conscious consumer. Storage Advantage: This product is packaged in a poly bucket which is flushed with Nitrogen. Storing your food in a cool and dry environment along with nitrogen packing insures living organisms can't survive and provides a maximum shelf life. Oxygen absorbers are helpful but they can only absorb a set amount of oxygen before the chemical, used to create the reaction, expires. Nitrogen will remain in the bucket until it is emptied.
